Objective To investigate the clinical application value of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) in patients with cryptogenic stroke(CS). Methods 167 patients with CS were selected.All the patients were tested with TEE and trans thoracic echocardiography(TTE) to analysis the value of the two different diagnostic techniques. Results 70 patients with cardio-embolic cerebral infarction were diagnosed by TEE,and 18 patients were diagnosed by TTE,positive rate was TEE 41.91% and TTE 10.77%.The detection rate of TEE was obviously higher than that of TTE.The difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion TEE has obvious advantages in the diagnosis of CS,which has important clinical application value.
