Abstract:Objectives:Aimed to identify risk factors influencing clsaaification of frontal horn cysts in neonates. Methods:Clinical data of 224 Neonates with frontal horn cysts, who had underwent both cerebral Ultrasound and MRI examination, were retrospectively analysis. According to the cyst location in ultrasonic image , total 224 frontal horn cysts were divided into three types. Analysis the relationship between the patterns and 6 factors including age, gender, ischemia, haemorrhage , infection and low birth weight. Results:Single factor analysis showed that the factors which associated with frontal horn cysts ultrasound pattern were ischemia(p<0.001), infection (p<0.001)and low birth weight (p<0.001). Multiple factor analysis showed that the related factor of each cysts pattern was: ischemia related to Above lateral ventricle(A type), infection related to Below lateral ventricle(B type) and low weight related to Connatal cysts (C type). Conclusion:Factors included ischemia, infection and low weight respectively influence different types of frontal horn cyst formation, ischemia may be risk factor for A type, infection may be risk factor for B type, and low birth weight may be risk factor for C type.
