Abstract:Objective: Use clinical data to predict the risk of the gastrointestinal bleeding for children with abdominal type allergic purpura, and to provide reference for medical treatment. Methods Between November 2014 and October 2015, the ultrasound images of 100 children hospitalized for abdominal purpura were analyzed for intestinal bleeding. The children were divided into two groups for study.children with abdominal allergic purpura displaying symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding, and a control group of children without gastrointestinal bleeding. Results indicate children with gastrointestinal bleeding are more likely have symptoms of bowel wall thickening, with the variation between the primary group and control group being statistically significant. Lymph node enlargement and abdominal cavity effusion is similar between the two groups and has no statistical significance. Conclusion Children with abdominal allergic purpura exhibiting bowel wall thickening may be an important predictor of gastrointestinal bleeding, and should undergo early intestinal ultrasound examination. When bowel wall thickening is also present alongside allergic purpura, clinicians should consider more aggressive treatment.
