Abstract:Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of the MicroPure Imaging Method combined with Virtual Touch Tissue Quantification(VTQ) technology in patients with thyroid nodules. Methods Seventy-two patients with seventy-eight thyroid nodules underwent conventional ultrasound、micropure technology and virtual touch tissue quantification(VTQ) technique respectively before operation.Taking pathological results as golden standard, sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value(PPV), negative predictive value(NPV) were caculated. Results The showed rate of micro-calcification in thyroid nodules by the using of micropure technology is higher than that of conventional ultrasound singly. There were significant differences in the detection rate of the two ways (P = 0.008).The sensitivity of using micropure, VTQ and micropure combined with VTQ technology were 66.7%, 82.4%, 88.9% respectively, the specificity were 70.0%, 68.1%, 71.0% respectively, the accuracy were 70.0%, 71.5%, 72.8% respectively, the PPV were 66.7%, 66.7%, 64.0% respectively, the NPV were 70.0%, 83.3%, 91.7% respectively. Conclusion The combination of micropure and VTQ technology have highly clinical application value for differential diagnosis the benign and malignant thyroid nodules.
