Breast cancer is the highest incidence of malignancies in women. Ultrasound is used extensively in the diagnosis and treatment of breast tumors. With the developments of new techniques, there has been emerging contrast-enhanced ultrasound, three-dimensional ultrasound, ultrasonic elastography and other new technologies, each with advantages and disadvantages. The application progress of the new techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of breast tumors were reviewed in this article.
