【】Objective To evaluate the value and the advantages of ultrasound in diagnosis of foreign body in digestive tract. Methods The ultrasound features of 7 patients with ingested foreign bodies at our hospital from january 2013 to 2016 were retrospectively analyzed and were diagnosed by ultrasound. The X-ray film finding were also compared. Results The foreign bodies of the patients were located in stomach (1 case) , jejunum (2 cases) , ileum (2 cases) and ileocecal junction (2 cases) , and one of the foreign bodies is a toy ball that can absorb water, because of water absorbing , it increased gradually, eventually stuck into ileocecal junction and led to intestinal obstruction, the other foreign bodies were not. Conclusion The ultrasound can definitely identified the location of foreign body and its relationship with surrounding organs, so it has higher clinical value than X-ray examine.
