Objective To enhance the diagnostic rate of Isolated ventricular noncompaction in adults by investigating both the clinical features and echocardiographic characteristics. Methods The clinical manifestations, echocardiography, X-ray, electrocardiogram and heart MRI were determined, retrospectively and comprehensively. Results: ①The majority of patients presented with ventricular arrhythmia and cardiac dysfunction. ② 2D echocardiography indicated that a two layer structure was seen, with a compacted thin epicardial band and a much thicker non-compacted endocardial layer of trabecular meshwork charging into ventricular cavity. There was color Doppler evidence of deep perfused intertrabecular recesses. ③The pathological changes were mainly involved in left ventricle, right ventricle or double ventricle, which implicate front wall, side wall,inferior wall,especially myocardium under the papillary muscles level. Conclusions Combination with clinical manifestations and other inspection well enhanced the chance to diagmosis INVC. Echocardiography my be the preferred means to diagnosis and screening of Isolated ventricular noncompaction. Keywords: Isolated ventricular noncompaction; echocardiography; adult;
