Abstract:Cardiovascular disease is one of the most common complications and causes of death in patients with uremia. Echocardiography can effectively evaluate the heart structure and function, and provide an effective basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment. As a new ultrasonic technology, speckle tracking imaging (STI) is more sensitive to detect abnormal heart function compared with the conventional echocardiography. This article mainly reviewed the research progress of left ventricular function evaluation in uremic patients by STI.
