Abstract:Objective: To investigate the left ventricular structure and function in preeclampsia during the third trimester of pregnancy by three-dimensional speckle tracking imaging and to observe its changes in postpartum period. Methods: Totally 75 women of childbearing age from August 2016 to October 2017 in Suzhou Municipal Hospital were chosen. PE group includes 50 preeclampsia women, NP group includes 25 healthy pregnant women. To collect the 3D full volume datasets on the apical four chamber full volume images in the third trimester of pregnancy and 12-18 weeks after delivery, then analyzed the left ventricular remodeling and the global longitudinal strain(GLS), global circumferential strain(GCS), global radial strain(GRS) and global area strain(GAS)of 17 segments .Results:Compared with NP group, the patients in PE group showed that GLS, GRS, GCS and GAS decreased in the third trimester of pregnancy, and GLS was still below at 12-18 weeks after delivery. Conclusion: patients with preeclampsia, cardiac remodeling in the third trimester of pregnancy and myocardial strain decreased significantly. With the decrease of blood pressure, cardiac remodeling and cardiac function improved after postpartum, but myocardial damage still exists.3D-STI is a new way for evaluation of left ventricular function changes in preeclampsia.
