Abstract:Objective To investigate the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS) in the interventional therapy of periappendiceal abscesses. Methods In a retrospective study about 135 cases of periappendiceal abscesses,70 cases were punctured under the guidance of CEUS as CEUS group,65 cases guided by conventional ultrasound were set as control group.Analyze the differences of puncture success rate, curative effect and incidence rate of complication between the two groups. Results The success rate of first puncture in CEUS group (84.3%) was higher than that in the control group (72.3%)(P<0.05),while there was no statistically significant difference about the success rate of second puncture and total puncture. The superior rate in CEUS group (94.3%) was higher than the control group (80.0%)(P<0.05),however the incidence rate of complication of CEUS group (10.0%) was less than the control group (23.1%)(P<0.05).Conclusion CEUS can accurately evaluate the formation of abscess cavity in periappendiceal abscess, and can improve first puncture treatment success rate and curative effect, also reduce incidence rate of complication. So it has certain value in clinical application..
