Abstract:Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is an insidious and long-term complication of diabetes,and DPN is mainly diagnosed by clinical symptoms, signs and electrophysiological studies. The gold standard for diagnosis of DPN is electrophysiological studies. However, there are many limitations in the electrophysiological studies. In recent years, ultrasound has gradually become an supplementary method for clinical diagnosis of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. This article reviews the progress of ultrasound in DPN.
