Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective To observe the analgesic effect of ultrasound-guided continuous fascia iliaca compartment block after internal fixation by proximal femoral nail anti-rotation(PFNA) in elderly patients. Methods Sixty elderly patients received internal fixation by proximal femoral nail anti-rotation were randomly assigned into two groups:ultrasound-guided continuous fascia iliaca compartment block(group A)and patient-controlled intravenous analgesia group(group B).Patients in group A received ultrasound-guided continuous fascia iliaca compartment block after surgery. The patients in group B received patient controlled intravenous after surgery.Patient’s vital signs,VAS scores and rescure analgesic demand were recorded at 2,6,12,24,48h after operation;Cases of nausea and vomiting, postoperative analgesia satisfaction and adverse reactions were recorded. Results Compared with group B,the VAS at three time points after operation in group A decreased significantly(P<0.05)with less rescure analgesic demands (P<0.05)and higher analgesia satisfaction(P<0.01).Group A showed no adverse effects such as nausea, vomiting, while 8 cases in group B developed such adverse effects(P<0.05).Conclusion Continuous fascia iliaca compartment block guided by ultrasound in elderly patients provides safe and adequate analgesic effect after internal fixation by PFNA. 【Key words】 ultrasound-guided; fascia iliaca compartment block;elderly; proximal femoral nail anti-rotation;postoperative analgesia
