Abstract:Objective To analyze the ultrasound image features of Peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor/Ewing's sarcoma (pPNET/EWS) in children, and to improve the accuracy of imaging diagnosis. Methods The sonographic features of 41 children who diagnosed as pPNET/EWS were analyzed in our hospital in April 2012 -2018 May. Results There were 22 males and 19 females with an average age of 7.68± 4.35 years. pPNET/EWS generally occurred in the Bone and soft tissue in of the lower extremities and the central axis. There were 19 cases occurred in Bone ,and 22 cases occurred in the soft tissue. The ultrasonic image also showed theirregular shape, visible border, single and giant mass, the average value of the maximum diameter of the tumor measured by Ultrasound was about 10.10cm, and the the mass appeared mostly medium (20/41,48.8%) or low echo (18/41,43.9%),A few cases are heterogeneous hypoechoic (3/41,7.3%).The mass might be mixed with high-echo dots("needlepoint-shaped")(28/41,68.3%), cluster (24/41,58.5%)or band-like strong echo(16/41,39.0%),also could be mixed with small region of scattered anechoic like"honeycomb"(19/41,46.3%) ,or showed cortical destruction (19/41,46.3%).CDFI detected short strip blood flow signals. Conclusion The sonographic features of pPNET/EWS have some characteristics, Ultrasound can be used for the diagnosis and follow-up of pPNET/EWS.
