Abstract:[Abstract] Objective: To observe the characteristics of kimura’s disease in maxillofacial region. Methods: Ultrasonic features of 7 patients with kimura’s disease in maxillofacial region were retrospectively analyzed. Results: The patients included 6 males, 1 females, aged 18-60 years old, and the clinical courses varied from 2 months to 15 years. The chief complain were chronic painless maxillofacial masses and enlarged lymph nodes in the neck. One case appeared local itching skin with pigmentation around the ear. 5 cases showed a single mass, they were located in the subcutaneous of buccal and periauricular, submandibular glands respectively, 1 case showed masses in the right submandibular gland and parotid gland, 1 case showed masses in bilateral parotid. The boundary of 6 cases were unclear and irregular with high blood eosinophilia, 1 case had clear boundary and regular shape with normal blood eosinophilia. All masses presented inhomogeneous hypoecho and the blood flow signals were category Ⅰ-Ⅲ. In 6 cases, multiple enlarged lymphnodes appeared around the masses or on the neck. Conclusion: The ultrasonic signs of kimura’s disease in maxillofacial region have some characteristics. With careful analysis of the ultrasonic signs and close connection with medical history and laboratory testing are helpful to the diagnosis.
