Abstract:Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose, which can lead to a variety of complications, among which cardiovascular complications such as diabetic cardiomyopathy are the main causes of heart failure and even death in diabetic atients. With the characteristics of non-invasive and convenient,echocardiographic techniques can evaluate the early heart damage of diabetes mellitus comprehensively, which also play an important role in providing evidence for clinical intervention and improving the prognosis. The progress of echocardiographic techniques in assessment of cardiac damage in diabetes mellitus were reviewed in this article.
