Left atrial structure and function impairment plays an important role in the cardiovascular complications in uremic patients before and after hemodialysis,but current imaging methods still present some challenges for the diagnosis of such impairment.The article reviews the progress on the evaluation of left atrial structure and function impairment of echocardiography in patients with uremia before and after hemodialysis.
