Abstract:Elevated intracranial pressure is one of the critical diseases in clinical practice, and might lead to cerebral dysfunction ,even life-threatening condition. Thus, it requires a rapid and accurate diagnosis method to guide timely intervention and to assess follow-up treatment results. Invasive intracranial devices remain the gold standard for intracranial pressure measurement. However, these techniques can lead to potential risks such as infection and hemorrhage.Ultrasonography of optic nerve sheath has been previously reported and suggested as a possible non-invasive indicator of elevated intracranial pressure. This article is reviewed below.
