Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical value contrast-enhanced ultrasound with aiding fine-needle aspiration biopsy of enlarged cervical lymph nodes. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 400 patients with enlarged cervical lymph nodes who all underwent coarse needle biopsy in our hospital from October 2017 to April 2019. All patients were infromed consent, and the 200 of patients underwent contrast-enhanced ultrasound before biopsy, and the success rate of obtaining lymph nodule tissues and the accuracy of histopathological diagnosis between the two groups were compared. The tissue length obtainedwas classified into 3 types , with the diameter <1.5cm (type I), 1.5-2.2cm (type II) and >2.2cm (type III). amongst three types, the success rate of obtaining tissue and the accuracy of histopathological diagnosis between the contrast and non-contrast groups were compared. Results The overall comparison of the success rate of obtianing tissue and the accuracy of histopathological diagnosis in the contrast group were higher than those in the non-contrast group. There was a statistically significant difference between the such two groups. For each of three types, the success rate of obtianing tissueand the accuracy of pathological diagnosis in the contrast group were higher than those in the non-contrast group. And there was no statistical difference between the two groups within type I and type III (P>0.05), however, The statistically significant difference showed in the type II(P<0.05). Conclusions The Contrast-enhanced ultrasound-guided improves the success rate of tissue of cervical lymph nodes via the coarse needle biopsy, especially for nodes with diameters 1.5-2.2 cm,thereby improvess the accuracy of histopathological diagnosis of lymph nodes, finally potentially brings benefits for patients in the clinical routine。
