Abstract:Crohn''s disease is one of the imflammatory bowel diseases. Intestinal Ultrasound (IUS) has played an important role in the initial diagnosis and follow up of Crohn''s disease. Compared with other imaging modalities, such as gastroenterography, magnetic resonance enterography (MRE) and Computed tomography enterography (CTE), IUS has its unique advantages due to its radiation free, low price, good patient tolerance and high repeatability. In the treatment of Crohn''s disease, mucosal healing (MH) plays a more and more important role in recent years. This review focuses in the current status of IUS in CD and the progress of its use in MH of CD.
