Abstract:Objective To analyze the function of left atrium in maintenance hemodialysis(MHD) patiens with different left ventricular configurations by velocity vector imaging(VVI).Methods The apical four-chamber images of 117MHDpatients and 30 normal subjects were analyzed to obtain the overall left atrial peak systolic strain(Ss) and peak strain rate(SRs), early diastolic peak strain (Se) and peak strain rate (SRe),late diastolic peak strain (Sa) and peak strain rate(SRa).Results Compared with the control group, Ss, SRs, Se and SRe were reduced in the case group (all P < 0.05), Sa and SRa were increased in the normal configuration group (all P < 0.05), and Sa and SRa were reduced in the centripetal hypertrophy group and eccentric hypertrophy groups (all P < 0.05).Compared with the normal configuration group and the centrality reconstruction group, the Ss, SRs, Se, SRe, Sa and SRa of centripetal hypertrophy group and eccentric hypertrophy group were significantly reduced (all P < 0.05).Left atrial strain and strain rate parameters Ss, SRs, Se, SRe, Sa, SRa were negatively correlated with E/ e (all P < 0.01).Conclusions Left atrium dysfunction in MHD patients,VVI technology can easily, quickly and accurately evaluate the changes of left atrial function in MHD patients,providing an objective basis for early clinical intervention.
