Abstract:Objective: To compare the application value of double contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (DCEUS) in preoperative T staging and Borrmann classification of gastric cancer in different parts. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the preoperative DCEUS data of 91 patients with gastric cancer in our hospital. The gastric cancer is divided into upper gastric cancer, middle gastric cancer and lower gastric cancer according to the incidence site. Pre-operative localization, T staging and Borrmann classification of gastric cancer in different parts were performed by DCEUS, which was compared with the pathological results. Results: The coincidence rate of preoperative localization of gastric cancer by DCEUS was 94.51%. The overall coincidence rates of DCEUS in preoperative T staging and Borrman classification for gastric cancer were 69.23% and 85.92%, respectively. Pre-operative T staging (Kappa=0.75) of lower gastric carcinoma diagnosed by DCEUS had good consistency with pathological results, while the pre-operative T staging (Kappa=0.49, Kappa=0.67) of upper gastric carcinoma and middle gastric carcinoma diagnosed by DCEUS had medium consistency with pathological results. The preoperative Borrmann classification (Kappa=0.92, Kappa=0.78) of upper and lower gastric cancers by DCEUS has good diagnosis and pathological results consistent, while the diagnosis and pathological results of the preoperative Borrmann classification (Kappa=0.68) of middle gastric cancer have medium consistency. Conclusion: DCEUS had good accuracy in the assessment of preoperative localization, overall T staging and overall Borrmann classification of gastric cancer. DCEUS is different in the preoperative T staging and Borrmann type diagnosis of gastric cancer in different sites. This examination is optional for clinicians as needed.
