Abstract:Ultrasound is a mechanical wave with a frequency higher than 20000Hz, which has the characteristics of good directivity, strong penetration, and long propagation distance in water, and is widely used in medicine. Tumors located in the convex or superficial part of the cerebral hemisphere, such as meningioma, are easy to locate and resect. However, due to the special location of deep brain tumors, the treatment methods are more comprehensive. In the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors, ultrasound can not only be used to identify the size, shape, location and depth of the tumor, help doctors locate and remove the tumor more accurately, reduce surgical trauma and injury, but also assist tumor therapy drugs to cross the blood-brain barrier into the targeted site, or even directly ablate the tumor. This article mainly reviews the auxiliary role of ultrasound in the treatment of deep brain tumor from the aspects of non-surgical application and surgical application.
