Objective: To investigate the ultrasonic characteristics of liposarcoma within the scrotum and to improve the accuracy of ultrasonic diagnosis for this disease. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical and ultrasonic data of 5 patients diagnosed with liposarcoma within the scrotum in the Pathology Department of our hospital from January 2014 to March 2024. Results: Among the 5 patients with liposarcoma within the scrotum, the ultrasonic echogenicity varied. Two cases of well-differentiated liposarcoma exhibited high echogenicity on ultrasound; one case of mixed-type liposarcoma (containing both well-differentiated and myxoid components) showed alternating high and low echogenicity; the other two cases of dedifferentiated liposarcoma presented as low echogenicity, with one case also displaying a mixed echogenicity pattern of low and anechoic areas. Color Doppler ultrasound examination revealed that liposarcoma within the scrotum generally demonstrated no blood flow or only punctate blood flow signals. Conclusion: This study provides a certain reference value for clinical ultrasonic diagnosis through the analysis of the ultrasonic characteristics of liposarcoma within the scrotum, which helps to improve the accuracy and early recognition of this disease.
